Bad luck with the 3pm at Newmarket. Won by the grey, carrying top weight, 10 stone, and with a 5lb claimer up. And the boy didn't have to do much more than point his mount forwards! Ditto the 3.35. I had an easy winner in that, simply by picking the animal which looked a natural mile and a quarter horse in the making, judging from breeding and her close relatives. It's tough 7 furlongs on the July course, and when they hit the rising ground she was soon pulling away.
