When having the above procedure, the medicine you are given tell you how much you have to make, not whether you drink it all at once, or what. Is there anyone out there who can help
Many thanks in anticipation

The instructions tell you how much you ned to drink with the preparation, but not whether you drink it all in one go or eke it out over a while
Ah. I don't know then. Have known people who have had it who have drunk a mixture for three evenings beforehand and fasted in the morning of procedure. Sorry. Ring and check with the clinic that you're going to.
What is the medicine you have to take? Is it Picolax?

It is a preparation A and B, to be taken in 1 litre of liquid at 7am and 7pm the day before the procedure.
There will be clear instructions as to when to take it, and what you can eat (usually CLEAR soups, Jelly, etc) in between times before you colonoscopy. You usually drink the whole preparation at 7 a.m. and then drink the whole preparation at 7 p.m. If you are in any doubt whatsoever, check with your hospital or GP and not on answerbank. We don't know what you have been told.
Every time that i have had it, It has been to drink the night before you go in to hospital. You make it up, I was advised to make it up with water and lime cordial to make it easier to drink.
DONT go far from the loo, cause it will go through you like a thunderbolt, its meant to.
You have to keep drinking it, until what you are passing from your back passage is just clear water, stay by the loo. X
Hope it all goes well. X
Also be aware, that for some people (my relative) it didn't go according to plan.
They had to have it done twice, because the first round didn't work as they expected.
I got instructions and just had the whole lot once made up - that said it took a while to get it down.

As said, stay very very near to the toilet and get lots of nice soft quilted loo roll in and the moist toilet tissue is nice and soothing for if you get a sore bum, maybe even some nappy cream too. Not saying it will make anything sore but better to have it than need it and not.
