So to summarise:
- Some men are charged with paying for sex with a prostitute who turned out to be 16.
- Both parties were of different religions.
- It was in Leicester and was reported in local media.

Oh, and ironically the story is about some older person(s) abusing someone who is teenager, and that has been the sub plot of this thread.

So, the men are charged with paying for sex and facilitating and trafficking, by moving her to meet clients, child prostitution. The girl was over 16 at all material time and was already working as a prostitute. The relevant age for these offences is under 18 years. That she was of the age of consent is not relevant therefore, though she was. The maximum penalty is 14 years though some offences under these provisions on child prostitution can be dealt with by magistrates, thus 6 months maximum

The word paedophile hardly applies to this, does it? We use the word for sex with those under the age of consent or below puberty (really the latter but the word seems to have acquired an extended meaning). But, in any event, it is not on a par, though unpleasant enough, with those cases of the predominantly Muslim gangs we have read so much about. It may well be given rather fuller coverage when the trial ends, but it surely won't get the kind of extensive coverage and commentary, running for many days, that those cases got.

The men have put in pleads of guilty before the girl gave any evidence today. They will probably get fairly short jail sentence, possibly suspended. No doubt AOG will complain about the leniency of whatever the sentence is.
