For years now. He has sent to my husband and there sister a order of protection for them to sign as respondents. We think he intends to sell mothers house and move. She isn't in fulltime care yet but goes to day center and has been assessed to the fact she will not have to go into a fulltime home for at least another year. My husband and sister does not want him to sell the house. Can they stop him.!

Yes there was an article in my local paper this morning. A woman has been convicted for selling her Mums house and then spending the cash so that she did not have to pay care home fees. The amount you are allowed to keep is £23,500 all the rest has to go to pay care fees. The Mother was suffering from dementia and knew nothing of the daughters actions, the daughter now has a suspended jail sentence and is being asked to repay the cash. This looks like exactly the same situation as this question, the BIL can not sell the house and use the cash to live on, he is guilty of fraud if he does so.
