it's an incredibly historic event this birth, it's really just dawned on me and it's emotional to think how much this is about the future.

Ah DeeJay I am sorry to wreck a really good story

Your mum 30 wks and 5 lb - that is 2.7 kg for anyone who isnt imperial.

a survival of 30 wks in 1928 would be truly truly remarkable
like you know miraculous

so much so... that I goggled gestational weight - age
and found
at 30 wks you are 2.9 lb - (oh that is much more like it)

and 5 lb at 34-35 wks

sorry about that

Your grand mum was out in her dates by exactly four weeks
happened quite a lot in the good old days before scans
Maydup they were taken in through a back door.
But having waited for so long, wouldn't every newspaper have had every door covered?
The back entrance is obviously out of bounds with loads of security,of course they will emerge from the front to the world's press.
Maydup, heard they drove in by the back entrance at 6 am.

Dotty, what are we going to do to keep the Queen awake this evening? Apparently once she goes to bed, they are unlikely to wake her and any news will not be released until morning.

We need to get her on here waiting up with us!
oh dear PP being out by 4 weeks is also very common round here (depending on who they want the dad to be) ;)
Question Author
peter neither lived long enough to worry about that. uncle maurice had a heart attack driving his land rover over Blackshaw Head towing a horse box, with a horse in. mum died of leukemia

My grandmother could not have any more children after that. Mum had TB in her early teens.
My youngest son was born at 34/35 weeks and weighed 6lbs 4oz.
