Scene - wonderful hot day.
Drip coming from joint in soil pipe - is it foul water? Phoned plumber.

Plumber came 3pm. Took joint off - poo-y water came out - rodded it - blocked manhole further down the line..... manhole isn't where we thought it was. Garden has poo, toilet paper, a million shiny flies- and three catz want their tea - not a hope, kittenz....

Oh my goodness, Boxy, that's horrible! Reminds me of a scene in Meet The Parents. Glad to hear its all gone now :o)

What an awful experience Boxy - and on the hottest day of the year too (well it was here) the smell would have made me gag. Glad it has been sorted so efficiently and you can breathe again - literally! x

The poo had gone by 630 anne, it's three hours later..... (but I do see the connection, the flies did too!)

No, I wasn't fuming at all, desky - it's just one of those things we have to cope with. I saw the leak, I rang the plumbers, the plumbers came. No issue about it at all. I can't say it was fun, but it was still an interesting experience to see how they dealt with it.
