If you have cases to be checked in to the hold of the aircraft, and there is no separate dedicated desk for passengers who have checked in on line, but have hold luggage.Whats the point of using your own paper/ink/time printing your own boarding pass?

A boarding pass is quite different to an airlines luggage tag......or have I misunderstood your question?
I`ve only ever used Easyjet once and that was eons ago. Don`t you just go to the bag drop desk where they will put a luggage tag on your suitcase? They don`t need to print you a boarding pass to do that.
He means why bother to check in online when he'll have to go to a check in desk anyway. BA have special baggage drop for online checked in passengers, does Easytjet?
Perhaps they charge for airport check-in and online check-in is free?
Last December, at Gatwick, the queue at the Easyjet baggage drop desk was far longer than at the check-in desks. Had it not been for a man with a clipboard calling flights due to go to the front we would have missed our flight

When I was in Amsterdam earlier this year the Easyjet desk and a self-service bag drop desk but you had to have your boarding pass ready printed.
There is always a drop- in desk, for passengers who have pre-printed their boarding cards. It's only those who check-in without that who have the delay and hindrance. That's the theory; I have had priority boarding at Nice and been in a longer or slower queue than those without, and the same may well apply to drop-in, but that's a risk you take. At least you have tried.
Last year I inadvertantly found myself taking part in a trial at Gatwick whereby you don`t even go to a bag drop desk. You just go to a machine and after inputing your booking reference, you print out your own bag tag and put it onto your own suitcase. A sign of the times I think
That's what I did in Amsterdam 237sj
