well, it'll depend on how heavy it is when packed, and as you have the phone (presumably), and (presumably) know what you are going to pack it in, only you will know that Plus what sort of post you want to send it in - different firms will have different prices.

I don't have the phone on me. I was hoping someone may know how much a boxed phoned weighs and would be able to give me a rough idea on cost.

I am selling it on Ebay. It's my Mum's though, not mine. I'm just doing it for her as she doesn't use Ebay. How do you mean 'scammed'? Surely once they've paid that's it?

Weigh it on your kitchen scales. Add a bit on for wrapping and look that weight up on the Royal Mail price finder site.

I got a 4S last week and still have the box an all. As I received it, it weighs 430g, the phone on it's own weighs 141g.

The weight is not so much of a problem as the dimensions of the package.
A small packet should cost £11.70 via International Signed-for delivery.
If any one side of the package goes over 16 cm, the the price shoots up to about £25.00 because the Post Office views it as a 'medium parcel'.
So keep the size down but with sufficient padding for the phone. A courier would be about the same, but track it to the door, which is what you should do to avoid a 'non-delivery' call from the buyer. Hope this helps.

I hope that my link was of some help. However, that apart, from what I keep reading about E/Bay transactions, I do Not think you should overlook what has been said by VHG.

In fact, I have seen postings in AB about problems arising, even after purchasers have received goods and the seller is left somewhat high and dry; until issues are resolved after a lot of hassle and numerous e/mail communications.

rccatnap - the small parcel and medium parcel bits only come into play on national post ie stuff going to the UK. For international post this doesn't happen. It goes on weight alone as long as the parcel is no bigger than height x width x depth 900mm and no one side longer than 600mm.
