I don't know where to start. Check to ensure the printer is connected to the router (or network you're using). Have you tried to see if you can print via cable ((CAT5) ethernet) from the laptop?
I'm making the assumption that it did once work.

I don't know where to begin as on the set up there is the printer and so nothing looks wrong and all looks the same as from the desktop one.
Question Author
new laptop so first time sorting out but engineer did all the transfer of data although the desktop is still operational just slow.
Connect the printer via cable and ensure that it will print that way. You would be suprised but it could be the laptop and the printer software...

engineer was able to print ok from laptop after he had unplugged cable to make it wi fi from anywhere at home, sorry don't understand anymore then what am trying to say.
So the desktop isn't connected directly to the router either? You use a WI'FI transmitter/receiver to connect to your router?

The printer itself might need setting up for your laptop. Does your laptop recognise the printer as being 'there'?
Question Author
yes it does recognise the printer and the engineer printed from it on tues.
It's one of those problems where I can't really do anything if I'm not there. It could be a number of issues. Make sure the printer is connected to the router. I'm lost to advise you because unless I was there I can't do anything, sorry. You don't live near sheffield do you lol
Is the laptop within range of the printer Wi Fi. Any response from the laptop when the print fails?
Question Author
no the lap top isn't within range of printer. just get a little blue circle going round like something is being recognised but the printer isn't doing nothing,

Still not sure if your using the printers wi-fi capabilities or your routers wi-fi capabilities?
I have a Kodak which to be quite honest are s**t!
When this happened to me I had to uninstall then reinstall to get it to work. It did it after checking for updates. Now I always say no to them.
Question Author
