Not sure about insurance if the person with the conviction is going to be the main driver of the vehicle, but maybe my experience of trying to get my other half as a named driver on my insurance will help you. My other half was banned from driving in 2000, getting his licence back in 2002. I finally found someone that would insure him as a named driver on my policy (fully comp with full NCB) in 2005 (a company called First Alternative), and I wish that I had tried them sooner, as even with him on my insurance the quote actually came out at 50 a year cheaper than my old insurers, who told me that they would never accept someone who had had a ban, even if it was many years in the past.
