Hello. I just need a bit of advice. I recently fidgeted with my finger nail so much that half of it has come away from the finger, some of it is still attached. I just want to know if it will grow out and then re-grow? It looks pretty horribal.

Thanks,

I once badly bruised a toenail and part of the nail came off. It did grow again but took some time but if your nail looks as if it's infected you would be better to see your doctor to have it checked. Good luck.
I left part of a finger in a machine some years ago and the nail with its roots was ripped out completely, it was replaced in casualty minor surgery and after some time the nail was the same as normal (pity the finger isn't)
Don't worry about it but just keep an eye on it for infection.
