As requested here are the problems I have had with my 2006 Vectra:
Wiper motor (replaced under warranty)
Wiring for injector no 3 faulty
Wiper linkage broken
Tailgate release dodgy, needs a good whack every now and then for it to work
Automatic gearbox has a mind of its own
Alternator needed replacing
Cruise control broken
Aircon broken
Blower motor broken
Interior leaks like a seive
Bearings at the top of the front shocks need replacing regularly (on my 5th set now)
Rear brake caliper seized
Catalytic converter gone and quoted silly money for a replacement (£600 plus)
And just had to have one of the rear springs replaced, but I'll put that down to our wonderfully billiard table smooth, er, I mean, potholed roads.

Spikey - thanks for remembering - I am amazed at the list and can see why you are not happy.
I have had mine for 5 years now (bought it at 17,000 miles) and the only thing I have had fail is a broken rear spring.
Its even still on its original battery. I would readily have bought another if they were still in production.

You're welcome Quai. Pity that over 20 years of loyalty to GM on my part has been spoilt. But I wouldn't have an Insignia even if my Vectra was as reliable as yours since they were featured on Watchdog for setting themselves on fire. It seems indicative of the "it'll do" attitude that has infected Opel. The blue oval isn't immune as I have heard similar bad stories from Mondeo owners. In the drive to reduce costs corners appear to be cut.
