I can see the whole video of the man crossing the Grand Canyon on a tightrope? I forgot to watch it on the Discovery Channel, and can only find snippets of it on You Tube.

I am sure it will be repeated on Discovery - do you know what the name of the program was and I will check for you?
I have been to the Grand Canyon twice and its everything that I expected this it to be. If there is anybody out there who hasn't been, start saving NOW, as it has to be one of life's great experiences !

But this is the scariest thing I have ever seen !
christ, that made me feel a bit sick!
does anyone know why they carry those big poles?
It plays em10 thank you. Terrifying though!
The pole is for balance, bednobs
*gulp!*
That made me feel ill!
And his next challenge is to walk between the Empire State building and the Chrysler building in NYC.eessshhh!
not good if you haven't a head for heights.
no safety harness, that takes some nerves
Brave or Mad?
I get giddy cleaning my bedroom windows.

Thanks em10 - are some people mad, or what? for someone who really doesn't like heights I felt quite brave, watching that! so he's going to do the Empire State Building to the Crysler Building next - I've been up the Empire State building when my sister lived in New York, and I was the person flattened against the wall of the viewing deck, despite there being quite high fences round it !
i'd have been impressed , if he had done it , without the pole .
what next, doing cartwheels?what does he do as a hobby?collect stamps
60 min documentary tonight

8.00pm Discovery Channel

BTW
Does anyone else remember The Flying Wallendas?
Actually - my reaction is - why ?

Just like , for eg , mountaineering - why ?
^

Well I suppose The Wallendas have made a good career from it for a few generations now

though a few of them have died in the process, including old man Karl who fell 10 storeys when he was 73!
Does anyone else remember The Flying Wallendas?
Weren't they the ones who came down with a bump while performing some sort of pyramid on a high wire?
do you need a widescreen TV to watch it?
you may be thinking of the Plummeting Wallendas, Frank97
I don't really get why he doesn't use a harness. It just seems unnecessarily daft to me, rather than brave or courageous, just plain stupid.
Frank

Yes

lots of them sitting on chairs on the shoulders of four of them walking the wire

notable fall in the 1960s that gave rise to their name
