i really need someone to give me there honest opinion before i get tomatos flung at me on you tube haha!
I love Rod! I thought your version was very good. You have a lovely voice x
You most certainly did not murder it. You have a lovely voice but that is such an iconic Rod song that I love. You have your own sound and that is brilliant.
well done x
It was pretty damned good, well done.

thankyou guys! i might just keep it posted now i wasent sure if it was painful lol im surprised ppl like it!
I think you over-enunciate a bit - "I couldn't have tried any more-ah-ore". I imagine the singer (well, Rod) half-slumped in an armchair, with some regret and nostalgia in his voice as he works through his feelings, too preoccupied to bother with fancy vocalisaiton.

jno i get that yeah i was just trying to sing it how i felt it in my heart without being cheesy lol ;)
Laura, love Rod Stewart and that's one of my favorites, must say that I also like your version. Very good.
laura - sorry didn't not go into your link but I have now - you do have a lovely voice. well done.
one of the things about the original is that he seems to be singing it as the memories and feelings come back to him a bit at a time, not as if it was all down on paper already. Your version isn't cheesy, but it sounds neat.
