Why?

Why do men play with themselves? I have a friend who is nearly 50, and he seems to subconsciously "rub" his groin with his thumb at every opportunity, when sitting down. I have known several other men who do this too. To me, that seems gross, and makes me feel uncomfortable. But they do not seem to be doing it in any sexual way.

Can anyone shed light on why they do this?

But will you wake him up, if you move out of arms reach?
when people itch, they scratch. It may be that his nipples are sensitive too; I imagine men would feel much less inhibited about rubbing itchy nipples than women, though I must admit I haven't seen this happen often. But doing it all the time seems excessive. Is it really all the time, or just more than you personally feel comfortable with?

I'm a girl and I'm always sat with my hands down my trousers (even at work sometimes if I forget - thank god for desks!!!).

At home I play with myself (in a non-sexual way) when I'm in bed with nowt on - just fiddle. Or if I'm sat on the sofa you can guarantee my hands will be down my trousers resting "there".

My other half is always on at me to "stop playing with myself" but it is totally non-sexual - just comfort. And sometime it is subconscious.

Sometimes, I'll go to the loo and come back with my jeans undone and just stand/sit around with my hands down the front of them.

flipflop, forgive me but I'm curious to know how you can 'play with yourself' in bed with 'nowt on' in a non-sexual way?

I think I can speak for many men, and say that if we witnessed you engaged in such an activity, it would be unlikely we would consider it as such.

Thoughts guys?

stevie I'm guessing flipflop is doing exactly what men do - which is chiefly non-sexual, though perhaps not in the case of Scarlett's friend - and is unlikely to be doing it while you're watching.
WellI am doing just that - playing/fiddling with myself. I'm not "arousing" myself. Just moving bits around I guess. lol
