Does anyone else have any stories of festival related short-term joy?

Great, bully for you. Queueing for the loo was hardly a joy.

Aw Ummmm, no way of blagging it somehow?

..thanks for your cheerful addition AYG ;-)
I don't think so. It was my fault for not paying attention to the date.

Did I tell you about our mate getting his tent robbed? He was asleep naked (drunk) and someone took all his clothes and wellies!! We were all up in the morning sitting outside our tent not knowing he was stuck in his with no clothes.

Quite funny that was :-)
Good on ya!
Never been to a Glastonbury festival, I preferred the smaller festies back in the 80s and 90s; as far as short-term joy, I dissolved much of my short-term memory at them.
If you can remember, then, you weren't really there.

Blimey Ummmm - that sucks.
What sort of w*nker would knick someone's clobber at a festi? Nasty.
Wyedyed - I've enjoyed a few smaller festis too, those ones are great fun, I have to stay reasonably 'sober' at Glast as I'm working there.
Did you ever go to the Big Green Gathering?
We thought it was hilarious.
Eggsacktly Wydyed I can only remember queuing for the loo whether I got there or not is another matter.
AP - I went to a few Green Gatherings in the 80s, don;t think I went to the Big one... unless you saw me there. I was the one with the long hair and spliff, chatting with the bikers and/or the (new age) punks.
I went to Glastonbury and to Stonehenge in the 70's and I don't remember a thing!
I really wanna go to Download this year!!! No one to go with :-(

I fancied Belladrum as well but all my pals are skint :|

I have no luck!! Who's playing at Glasto?
Question Author
The Rolling Stones and Django Django (to name but two) :-)
Bet you can't wait to see Bruce Forsythe !.
The last time I went to Glastonbury some morons near us had nicked lots of stuff from neighbouring tents and then drew attention to themselves by lobbing things in the general direction of their victims. So we called the police who promptly ejected them sans tents, upon which they then invited us to divide the remaining spoils amongst ourselves. Looking back now that seems a bit harsh perhaps, but it seemed OK at the time.
Those were in the days (not actually all that long ago) when you could ring up weeks after the tickets went on sale and still book one.
"What sort of w*nker would knick someone's clobber at a festi?"

The sort who would nick anything anywhere else.

With the size of the crowd at Glastonbury, the proportion of undesireables obviously increases in proportion, but in percentage terms, it is still small.

Obey the rules - don't leave anything in your tent you are not prepared to lose, and in your friend's case, cut down on the alcohol - if you don;t hear and feel people nicking out of your tent, you have overdone it!!!
