Hello. Could anybody inform me what I can expect to pay for a piano tuning. I believe that its been regularly tuned in the past, but if I buy it, then I understand I'd need to have it re-tuned?

Any ideas or experience in this area??

I pay about 40 quid.
Yes, I'd say about 40, too.

The frequency of tuning depends mainly on the age and condition of the piano, the ambient conditions (temperature and moisture), and the usage. My wife is a piano teacher and she also plays a lot herself, and her piano is tuned every 2 or 3 months. Some people find every 6 months is OK.

Of course, some people cannot tell whether their piano needs to be tuned ...

And others play so badly that there's really no point ...
