Had a knock on the door earlier and went to see who it was (so classily in my nightie and dressing gown!).

Said he was there to read the gas meter so I checked his badge before letting him in.

He seemed quite shocked as he said I'm one of the only people who has checked his badge. Amazes me these days!

I'm pretty safety conscious generally, always make sure my headphones are off before I get off the bus and wait for others to head off before me etc... I even usually have my phone and MP3 player handily stashed in my cleavage - it'd take someone pretty damn brazen to grab them from there!

BM....very very true. It makes me feel safe :-)

Come in here uninvited at your own peril...
I dont open the door after dark but thats about it.
Postman knocked the other morning to tell me my keys were in the front door. They must have been there all night!
I wonder if you could have used them to lock my back door Jno ;)
probably, EvianBaby, they're just those grooved-cylinder things, you could use them to take stones out of horses' hooves.
or open a bottle of wine if JJ's forgotten the waiter's friend again
Hhhmm, not too many horses in these parts of Aylesbury.
I don't often forget the waiter's friend, lol

I had a fork in my bag for quite a while, a (rather drunken) friend insisted I take it in case I got attacked on the way home. I still have it.
It's not in case you get attacked, Eve. That would make it a weapon.

It's for when you have fish and chips.

Those little wooden forks are useless, so it's always worth having a proper fork with you.
Not very, forever forgetting to lock my back door, forget to lock the car, I have even been known to leave the boot of the car open overnight, by open I mean lifted up, not sensible when there's a cd multiplayer in there. One of my tenants hasn't locked his back door in the fifteen months he has been living in the property, except when he went on a fortnight s holiday.
