My neighbour puts food out daily for the birds. Always get a few pigeons come down for their food. The other day my cat got one of the pigeons for his food....mmmmmm
Cat got a pigeon? Big cat!
Not that big, just very solid.....Hey, maybe it was the pigeon wondering round the garden.......!?!?!?!?
Hope so! That's that problem solved. Let the cat eat it :)
Well I couldnt kill anything, vermin or not, without giving it the chance of recovery. I dont feel we have the right to decide what lives or dies.
So what would you do if you had a rat infestation in your house?
It might be a homing pigeon, they sometimes just stop for a rest. I took one to the vet and they put it to sleep so best bet it to put him in a box, give him some water and hope for the best.
Lots of animals are classed as pests including little bunny rabbits. My friend goes shooting and brings lots back with him. Very nice too.
If you leave the pigeon there something will take it, a large cat or a fox. It will get eaten one way or the other. Nature red in tooth and claw.
People seem to have forgotten that pigeons saved thousands of lives during the war carrying messages...there seems to be an awful lot of cruel folk walking this planet.
I too can't believe what I'm hearing.. you people seriously need to grow up and stop taking life for granted. so animals can't speak so what.. we are their voice! So my best advice would be to look after the little pigeon, I think your pigeon may have a broken wing or torn a ligament. most people would carefully capture it and keep it in a crate or pet crate with holes to breath in and supply some crushed peanuts and water, not bread.. that only bloats them. but peanuts are high in fat which they need. Then I would try and find if there's a bird rehabilitation centre nearby were they care for the injured until healed back to health and then let them back in the wild. can you imagine, how great that must be? for the pigeon to be at full health once again. amazing. and it would be all down to you.. caring isn't a weakness, it's a strength that is well admired- remember that. and do the right thing. - Heather x
