He used to be good in Z cars though. Fancy Smith.
I saw him in 'Cats'. He was brilliant. Last night he was just OTT.
When you hire Brian Blessed for a gig, you are not hiring him to be quiet, or reflective, or contemplative.

You anticipate and expect an OTT bellowing guffaws and roars of laughter. A modern day Falstaff with a larger than life beard.

I thought his challenging Gerry Adams to fisticuffs was highly entertaining, as was his "Gordon's Alive!" line - was half expecting Queens "Flash" to accompany hin :)
I watched him on the BBC programme about closing Television Centre. He was just the same then as well. He thinks he is permanently acting and has become a bit of a parody of himself IMO.
He's always cringy to watch, but he has a good heart and supports many charities, including animal ones. When he was on Pointless he wanted his winnings to go to the Born Free Foundation, but sadly he didn't win! By the way Jem, that wasn't his wife with him on Pointless, it was his daughter.
He is always, shall we say "over enthusiastic", but I enjoyed this programme.
He went too far, he was far too loud and not funny at all
i didn't see it all, however his remarks about Gerry Adams was worth waiting for.
I have just watched the recording I made of it and OMG...I had to switch off. I agree with tamarisk...and then I have to add I feel sure he's not mentally stable...jeez...what on earth is he on (even Ian mentioned that jokingly). Such a shame he was there to IMO ruin a good programme that I watch every week. I know we can't all have what we want but for me...he's furthest from what I want as a guest presenter on this oft times funny programme.
That blessed man spoiled the whole programme for me! Who was the female contestant? His comments obviously went down like a lead balloon with her if here expressions were anything to go by.
"Her" not "here" duh
i think he is what the show sometime needs, a bit of bluster and bellowing, watch Ian Hislop try and get a word in edgewise. The woman on the show got her two cents worth in, some very good asides...
...Just watched it on iPlayer..not anything new...you know what you are going to get with him...
Em I agree in lots of your posts but can't on this one...purely opinion though. I hate bluster and shouting, doesn't work for me so I guess on this we have to agree to disagree (lol). Just cannot stand the man as he is now, he never used to be like this so I don't know what has changed ('cept his ego?).
