I have a relative who is on Warfarin and they have to have an I.N.R test frequently to check the thickness of their blood. Does anyone know what I.N.R stands for ?

It stands for International Normalised Ratio, meaning the time blood takes to clot is compared to a control. The normal range of the INR is 0.9-1.2, but the desired range differs depending on the condition the warfarin is being used for (eg DVT, prosthetic heart valves, pulmonary embolism etc.)

International Normalised Ratio. ( to check blood clotting time.)

A lot more info from harks above.
