What does tc stand for on the description of egyptian cotton sheets

tc What does this stand for if i am going to buy Egyptian cotton sheets? Is it better to get a high number tc or a low number tc?

It stands for thread count, presume that the bigger the tc number the better the quality?

High thread count = good quality. Low thread count = Primark

Cheap fabric is often about 200, quality hard wearing sheets are usually about 400 but beware because poor quality higher thread count can be a harsher feel fabric.
