I think he did. Any armchair detectives out there who would like to add their thoughts?

Ratter, if what you're saying is correct, then he died and rose again - and that I very much doubt. Perhaps they didn't 'stick' him quite as viciously as we're led to believe.
Ok, slight adjustment "Apparently" They stuck him with a whopping great sword.

Personally, I doubt he ever existed, and if this Jesus did exist, this isnt the one that is talked of in the Bible.
I remember learning in religious classes, out of hell there is no redemption and out of heaven you wouldn't want to come.

Caribeing, I'm not sure what that has to do with the question.

I was hoping that people would turn detective and attempt to get to the bottom of this impossible story of a dead man returning to life, but alas to little avail. Thanks for your answers anyway.
In the spirit of dispelling much of the confusion surrounding this term, might I suggest another more appropriate spelling to be used for it henceforth and forever more - 'crucifiction'? Has a certain ring to it . . . don't you think?

Yes, I do. :o)
Even if I believed the gospels (which I don't) they would still not convince me that Jesus died. All they say is that 'they saw he was dead'. Who did? What doctor? What tests? And the last thing a man can do when about to die of crucifixion, suffering from acute asphyxia, is cry out in a loud voice!

He is certainly not likely to be dead. Crucifixion was designed to be a long, slow drawn-out death lasting some days . Taken down after just a few hours he would have had a sore back from the scourging and wounds in his wrists and feet, painful but not life-threatening. A day or two in that cool tomb with TLC from Joe and Nick with their 100 lbs of ointments and lots of bandages would have had him on his feet with help and in a fit state to scarper.

No, a very unconvincing death. But since the whole story is fantasy anyway why should that bit be believable?
