Yep, also very bad timing.
Agreed
Can he take over from mr personality as England coach please?
Hardly a shock TBH. Yes, the timing is poor but the way they've been playing and his record there is hardly gleaming.
Maybe the thinking is that new blood will inspire them for the relegation fight they've obviously become part of.
He does seem to have lost the plot though recently.
I think the board are looking for a successor while there are still a few games left rather than waiting until it's too late.

If O'Neil can't get them playing no one can.

If Villa and Wigan both win their game in hand over Sunderland then they go bottom 3.
No Zacs, Roy is better qualified and has a better recent record.
See all the usual failures are being spoken of as his successor.Serves them right if they end up with the wally with the brolly.
Although they looked defeated the minute they stepped on the pitch it was only 1-0 against the league leaders, and they scored it. Bad idea sacking O'Neil this late in the season.

Lol, grumpy
Can he take over from mr personality as England coach please?

You are joking?

I have never understood the messiah mentality that surrounds O'Neil, what has he ever done as a manager?

Have just read Sunderland are going to talk to Palo Di canio. Board must be more stupid than i thought.
Di Canio has now signed a 2 1/2 year contract
Question Author
I think Di Canio will be a fantastic manager but maybe not just yet.

Big gamble for the Black Cats but Di Canio's undoubted passion may be just what they need right now.
Question Author
David Milliband has also left Sunderland!
Never knew he was there.
David Milliband is Vice Chairman and has resigned over Di Caio's fascist views.
Sorry,was Vice Chairman
