some advice plz on were me and the wife can celerate our 50th birthdays in ireland,we have never been so advice on travel from the north east of england would be helpful too ta.

I'd avoid Dublin.

I'd go west to Mayo/Sligo Or south to Kerry/Cork because they have airports.

Cork/Kerry has stunning scenery.
Sorry, I can't advise you on travel from the north east of England, but I just thought I'd say I like Dublin. Very interesting.
if you want to fly from a local airport there's not much choice - to dublin from newcastle or leeds with ryanair, and that's it.

or, travel from almost anywhere in the uk to dublin by train and ferry, one way fare starts from around £38.00

a similar fare is obtainable for a coach/ferry journey, if booked well in advance.

otherwise, take your car - via holyhead journey (from newcastle) comprises 270ml of driving
