sorry guillie I posted the wrong one - perhaps you will like this one
I've often wondered what it would be like to go on a pilgrimage. Anyone ever been on one?Did you find the peace you sought?
Question Author
For cupid - yes I have been on one to Lourdes when I was very young and just found out that my sister (believe it or not) was 8 months pregnant (not married) so it was mixed emotions. But I did regularly go to retreats and they are meaningful. I think I may go to one this year as my cousin who is a nun (80 years old) she is doing one in July so I may join her) think I need it - it is very contemplative and you are under no obligation to follow everything through.
Connemmara, I loved the song sweet queen of peace. I am a fan of Daniel anyway. I also thought that with the other song Susan Boyle did very well considering the song was new to her. My thoughts no mater what anyone else thinks is she has come a long way and deserves it.

Susan deserves everything that comes her way - since she was a child everybody called her "simple susie". Not simple now - God bless her! I love her because she is so childlike and I know she will remain that way no matter how far she travels.
Thankyou for your reply. I hope you have a nice time with your sister.

I haven't been on a pilgrimage as such but I have been on a retreat 2 or 3 times. The first time was to pray that my village church I had been going to was
going to close because of declining figures. I now go to a town church but I've never got over the pain of the split in my original place of worship. I'm happy enough but I think I probably put my trust too much in people instead of God.
I'd be raising my arms if I were that, er, gifted, too.
^^ .... or checking your pulse. ;o)
