Hi all
Is there a device that you can buy to detect draughts around the home. My house must be the coldest in england, the central heating is on plus the fire and im still cold. We have Cavity wall, loft insulation and double glazing. My gas bills are enormous, i dont mind paying money but not when im still cold. Any idea's bankers?

To burn a fire it needs air which will be pulled from outside towards the fire; this causes draughts. Unless your fire is giving out a lot of heat it might be better to not have a fire on at all.

It's called a cat, Rosie. (They'll never sleep anywhere near to a draught!)

Alternatively . . .

Ha Ha. I have 2 cats and they park their bums next to the radiator, the fire burns perfect (god bless it )
Have a shower then, before you dry yourself, stand naked in the middle of the room - you'll soon discover where the draughts are coming from, lol!
Is everyone cold or is it just you? it may be that you have a circulation problem
'Terrible Draughts'. Reminds me of some pubs I've been in. :)
Try the old fashioned candle flame. If it flickers, it's in a draft.
