Gordie, you are the only one who can stop yourself going on insulin, cut your sugar intake as much as possible, STOP eating those large Chocolate cakes, I think you said you're not working at the moment, so get out there and do some walking, it really is good for you.
I was diagnosed as Type 2, 3 or 4 years ago, I took advice, changed my diet (not easy I know) and as a dog owner I already did a lot of walking, I now see the Diabetic Nurse once a year, do not take any medicines at all for it, and have no problems living with it, I'm 60+ by the way.
I've seen the damage it can do to people, toes or even whole feet being amputated, it's not a journey I want to take, and believe me neither do you,
