Does anyone else think Sally has lost the plot. Both her and Gail's parenting skills stink! And I say this as a 55 year old mother!

I think Gail is reacting with shock to actually be confronted with the evidednce that her daughter is conducting a sexual relationship.

This is not uncommon in parents, but more often than not, they calm down, bow to the inevitable, and carry on.

I haven't seen Gail's scenario, I assume it to be with the brat-from-hell David who needs a serious dose of common courtesy and the essence of co-existing with others.

The more you tell a child they cant do something the more they rebel. I too would be upset with a child doing it on the couch, coz that is just plain disrepect, I'd shout at a 30 year old married couple if I caught them at it on my couch, but I would not ban them from seeing eachother as Rosy said she needs to learn about life by herself, Sally will only lose her daughter.

I think the writers are dealing with it really well. It would be easy to find another way, but they're showing Sally reacting in shock, quite realistically. Faced with the scenario of finding out their daughter is in a sexual relationship at 15, most parents would be in shock too. And most parents watching would probably think they could handle it better, but then they're not actually in the situation, are they??

(Andy, I think you meant Sally is reacting with shock, in your first paragraph - slip of the pen, I'm sure. I always get the characters names confused too! For some reason, I can always remember the actors' names pretty well, but not their characters'.)

And David, he got a taste of his own nastiness when the big feller first got a grip of him by the throat and then, later, twisted it to make out the kid was a liar and a devious one at that. Clever! Again, quite realistic. It would have been easy to let David win out in that situation, but the writers found a way to make him squirm (and don't we just love it when that happens?!)

Yes, you're quite right snook, a combination of age and early morning!

I think Sally is totally over-reacting, Rosie and Craig have been in a relationship for nearly 2 years, they love each other and they've been through a lot together. Its not as if she jumped into bed with any old person.

Sally is gonna have more of a shock at the end of the week, Rosie is going to be put on the pill, but at least she is being careful, more than can be said for Sarah-Louise Platt.

I think the producers/writers are more liekly to make Sophie pregnant.

Also think that Sally's behaviour says more about her than Rosie......she is just so unhappy with her own life that she does'nt want Rosie ending up like her......

Agree about the Pratt brat.....he's a right wee horor!!

..I thought it was well written and brilliantly acted by both the young actors, it reminded me of what my mother did to me, as a 15 year old virgin whos periods had stopped , she dragged me to the docs for a pregnancy test, despite my insistance that I had never had sex, I had never felt so humiliated in my life, Sally is superb as an overbearing control freak snob, trust me , I should know ....
