Onwards and Downwards Continues in February 2013

Hello all,

Welcome to February, I hope that those of you who were on a strict post Christmas diet have had some great results, and relaxed just a little.

Look out just around the corner is Valentine's Day! Save the chocs and dinner out and spend the money on a spa day or movie evening with the OH instead. Any other ideas?

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Here is last months thread

I know the feeling LYnda; sometimes the harder you try the less you shift. I got "stuck " for a couple of weeks after Christmas not lossing anything much and I think its down to the weather. Our bodies holding on to it for warmth! Try a change of menu. If you're eating similar meals on a regular basis see if you can think of something different. We're trying sweet...

Well done Maydup. OG I think you and I need a good kick up the *** to get a kick start. lol. Have to stop looking at them cream cakes but I have not bought any cakes or biscuits this week.
I don't know why I was under the impression it wasn't such a bad week. As is often the case on a 'week off', I have eaten more than it seemed. I was almost 17.5% above target on average. I'll need to pay more attention now I'm back at the grindstone.
Ok so I only lost 1lb since last Wednesday but I did had a very naughty weekend and gained a bit which by being very strict ive lost + a bit more. So im really pleased not to have gained this week over all. I clearly need to reign in the weekend feasting a bit.

I was having 2 pieces of Marmite on toast + a kiwi fruit and a banana with low fat yoghurt in the mornings for breakfast, but I read that by having full fat yoghurt it is more filling and you are less like to get hungry so soon and apparently it contains the "good" type of fat. I must say it works a treat, I now have dropped the toast and just have the kiwi and banana with 100gms of full fat natural yoghurt, that ties me over until mid day without a problem and I love it!! I sometimes have it for supper as well if im peckish or 2 pieces of sardines on toast which I also love.

I must say, I find this dieting thing quite refreshing, I wish I done it years ago, Ive always eaten good food and never crap food, I just ate vast quantities, im now eating far less and eating equally nice food.

This is my first ever diet so I think that this why I am able to lose weight fairly easily, I think I can maintain this type of eating because I love the food and im feeling better for it, it is just a little tight on the purse strings though, but not too bad.

Im now just dropped below 14 stone and feeling chuffed so I thought I would share the way it works for me.

Good luck to all and keep up the good work.
Wow, That was a long post^^ I never write long posts!!
You seem to be in the same catagory at myself ratter.....you eat good healthy food but just too much of it.
I'm glad that you have such a positive take on it....that is half the battle.
lol xstitcher, Sorry, I may have mislead you a little. I said "good food" I didn't say healthy food, I would eat masses of sausages, bacon, potatoes, and cheese by the lb, so yes it was great food but a long way from healthy food. So I have had to change the food I eat but it is just as tasty.
Well done Ratter .I feel much better too when I am on the straight and narrow. Don't feel bloated after a meal. I have bacon as a treat some Sundays. Only problem is kids keep dragging me out to these carvery dinners some Sundays so then I have to work twice as hard but last time I managed to keep away from the puddings and sweets as that is what does the damage especially the Eton Mess which I love. Keep up the good work
Hello everyone. Well done to the losers. I'm up one and a half pounds, I think it's because it was half term last week. I must go and buy some sweet potatoes and kiwi fruits again. Does anyone know of any other magic food?
2lb off this week :) and seeing the '12' appear - bye bye 13 :D

A challenging day as well, after a nasty shock at the garage - can I do without air con (and me with hot flushes)? Have resisted the temptation to comfort eat/drink too much.
Well done taichiperson!! keep resisting lol

I saw 14 disappear today :-))
Well done Ratter- doesn't it feel good! :)
Tuna Fish Salad: to be eaten cold or as a sandwich fill if so inclined

1 can tune in brine

finely chopped onion as much as you please

finely chopped celery.....to give a nice crunchy feeling

about 3 tablespoons of Total 0% or another lo fat Greek Yogurt

Season with what ever you wish and mix well.
Well done Taich isn't it a nice feeling to get under the 13 mark . tstitcher I like the sound of that recipe always used to mix with onion but never thought of celery.
Mmmmmm, that sounds nice :-)
