I was in the bath today and it suddently popped into my head my mum singing 'íf you can pinch more than an inch your fat'. Well I looked down and I can pinch probably 1 1/2 inches on my chest area and at least 6 on my stomache!!! I am obese! I am today starting a 3 day fast to kick start this serious regime of food limitation.

atkins is not zero veg - quite the opposite

it is high protein, high greens

zero or low carbs ie sugars (which limits fruit because most fruit is full of sugar) and cuts out starchy vegetables and grains
Of course it is tough! Which is why eating a healthy balanced diet is overall better than suddenly swinging from chip butties to starvation!

Take it a step at a time by changing the what you eat from chip butties to cooking healthy meals from scratch and see what happens after a period of 4-6 weeks.

Have a look at the BBC Good Food website, it has lots of healthy vegetarian recipes for you to try.
They printed this 5 on ,2 days off diet in a newspaper the other day. made no sense at all.
Here is an article by Michael Mosley that explains the scientific hows and whys behind intermittant fasting,....as opposed to honeydips 3 days of starvation...:-(

starvation diets don't work, are more harmful in the long run, best advice is do it over a period of time, cut down on fats, sugar and take more exercise, my doctors, dieticians advice a long time ago...
