As a woman in my 60s, i need to get rid of stray facial hair on my lip and chin. I want a permanent removal but find electrolyisis too painful. Would laser be less sore? i dont need a lot, just a few short sessions.

Hi lyn, i had a letter from national skin laser clinics ,I don't know if they have these clinics around the country or just in my area which is portsmouth, they do laser hair remover which they say starts at 26.00.which i think is cheap . the phone number for them is 0800 028 7222.or website www.lasercare-clinics.co.uk I hope this is of some help to you.

Hi

Laser is quite painful. Although I found it less painful than electrolosis. One thing to bear in mind, you say you would only need a few short sessions - laser doesn't work like that. As a general rule, due to how hair grows, you will need around 6 sessions regardless of how much hair you have. So when places quote prices that generally will be for just one session. Reputable places will do a skin/patch test first, which will ensure your hair type/skin is suitable for laser and will also give you a 'taste' as to how painful it really is.
