I've been invited to the afters of a wedding by a workmate. What I need to know is what do you buy a "casual" friend/workmate for a wedding present?
I was thinking of just giving a £50 voucher.

£20 or £30 voucher from M&S before they go broke like most of the high street stores.

Erni-x, there is going to be a work collection also but I don't give to any work collection, I hate work collections, people collecting for birthdays/engagements/babys...and so on, I refused to give to work collections as there is always something.

And I'm not loaded, Im just a average low paid worker.
Then don't give £50, give what you can afford, not what you think is expected of you.
I'd really just give a £20 voucher, as you say And I'm not loaded, Im just a average low paid worker. , so don't leave yourself worrying about your finances later in the month for the sake of a "friends" evening wedding.
Ah okay... I'm not keen on them either. I thought if there was just a few of you going you could do it on your own wee group. Just a suggestion lol!

Hope you get something sorted :)

one time i was so broke i had to give only £10 to the couple at the evening do.

although its low they knew my circumstances, so i assume they knew why.

i wanted to give a bit more of course, but to be honest if theyd been pist off about it i would have thought them shallow and ungrateful - gifts are gifts an shouldnt be subject to 'rules'.
gven that people financial circumstances vary its unfair to put a monetary value on it.
its easy to be 'generous' when you're loaded.
You can gift a photo frame with a photo of bride and bridegroom to your workmate.
