Just a warning. I've really lost my rag on the phone tonight with Next. I was given a Next e-voucher for my birthday and having found something I wanted to buy I set about ordering online. It turns out you cannot use these electronic vouchers online unless you already have an account with Next and have already ordered and received something else that you've paid for with a card. Just letting you know what a faff it is if you were thinking of gifting someone.

According to the Next website, you can create your account as you shop, selecting the 'Pay By Gift Card' option:

Yes Chris (and as I've spoken to 5 different people about it on the phone I'm an expert now) but only if you create an actual credit account with a monthly statement. No thanks.
I suppose you could always buy the item then close your account fairly quickly, but maybe it'll show on your credit file as some sort of credit application
Prudie, do you know someone else with a Next account who can order it for you and use your voucher to pay for it?

The only one I know is the person who gave it to me and I don't want her to feel bad. I actually went into a Next store today and was able to use it with them ordering what I want. I nearly blew my top again as neither of the girls serving (Sunday staff I guess) had ever seen e-vouchers before and didn't know how to process it but got there in the end. The disadvantage is I now have to go back next weekend to pick it up.
