In the pub last night there was a guy with a shaved head and it was covered in scorpian and spider tattoos....my mate commented that he had read that it was actually illegal to tattoo your face?

is this correct? and when i was in brighton i saw a guy with a tear drop tattooed under his eye...i was told that this meant that he had killed someone....is that what that tattoo symbolizes?

It is illegal for a tattooist to tattoo above the neck and below the wrists it's not illegal to actually have the tattoos, though! There are illicit tatooists that will do this. The love/hate brigade often do their own whilst in prison.
i think it isnt illegal in America, as i have a couple of friends who had theres done whilst there, maybe this bloke did.

It is illegal to have the face tattooed but this hasn't always been the case so maybe he got it done before that law was taken into effect?

I swear I once was in a tattoo parlour and this guy was getting a bit of a tattoo rectified by this absolutely reputable tattooist. His entire face was covered with a Union Jack.Gross wasnt the word.

The tattoist came and advised everyone there he would never do this type of thing but he was asked to rectify a problem.

I often wondered about the tear drop - I always thought there may be some signifigance to this as its not your normal manly tattoo.

I was watching a documentary just before xmas about gangs u know the one with ross kemp i think... well anyway in america i think sum guys on that had tear drops tattooed on their faces and apparently it is because they have killed someone. however, im not sure if it symbolises the same thing over here

Things like union jacks are just wrong!

In New Zealand the native Maori people have facial tattoos called moko's and they are a sign of respect and stature.

Some Maori gang mambers in NZ have facial tattoos that arent very traditional and are done for intimidation only.

I knew someone who had a rabbit tattoed on his bald head as from a distance it looked like hair ;-) Sorry couldn't resist
i went to blackpool in the summer and wanted a tiny tatoo on my finger and the guy refused as local licensing laws prevented them from tatooing faces or hands because of the stigma etc.i guess only "backstreet" tatooists might do this though
Lol Hopalong. Facial tattoo's are a form of intimidation, used by morons, I just think they look very very stupid.
Our man in Bedford with the tattooed face died last year. He was quite infamous locally, and quite off-putting to look at. He was known as 'teardrop'. One of his last acts was to have eyes tattooed on his eyelids so his eyes always looked open...spooky...
I propose IF its alright for me to get ********* in a pub you can put any bloody thing on your bleedin head you feel like
excuse me i didnt know face was disallowed
strictly speaking you can tatoo your own face or anywhere you like, its just that licensed tatooists arent allowed to these days.
