How long should I cook lamb chops for? they're going in the oven and they are about an inch thick. We like them well done by the way.

Many thanks

PS look at all the related questions, dozens about cooking lamb chops !!
Been years since I was a kid but as I recall my old mum used to put them in mid-morning to do for dinner/lunch. That surely must have been a couple of hours ? Feel sure they won't need that long though. I think I'd check after 45 minutes and adjust meal time to suit.

Thank you both, I put them in for 45 minutes and they were perfect.

:-) I seem to recall Sunday lunch as a kid the chops were well done. But we used to have the thick ones too. Mother was less keen if all she could get was the smaller thinner ones. We'd end up with more than one on the plate when that was the case.

I miss those Sunday lunches, with mint fresh from our garden made into mint sauce. (That was unusual too, I tried to find the short dark ragged leaf mint in later years, to grow for mtself, but all I tended to find was tall, smooth light coloured leaf mint. Never did find out what type of mint we used to grow.)
