Hi everyone, I have just found a piece of Aida fabric 6 count to the inch, my grandson is very interested in doing some cross stitch, he is only 6 and the holes aren't as big as I thought, do you think 3ply wool would be alright to use, I haven't any so would have to buy. Thanks

That would be fine, my grand-children used to do cross stitch using odd bits of thin wool.

Ordinary wool is not terribly strong.Tapestry wool is strengthened ( often with nylon) to help it take the constant dragging through the fabric. No harm trying ordinary wool, but don't be surprised if it unstrands itself. If there is such a verb as "unstrand" . But you know what I mean.
