Has anyone ever felt that the sales pitch used by agents over the phone is often very forceful, rushed, intimidating, to the point all they are interested in is a quick sale and their COMISSSSSSSION!!!

yup.....tell 'em to piss off and find a friendly one! x
Very true, but it's easy to cut them off by just putting the phone down. Still, they're only trying to earn a living, I suppose.
No, because I don't get sales calls - TPS or CPS soon puts a stop to cold calling. I wouldn't ever buy anything over the phone, I need time to consider. You're probably right though - don't forget that they are all working to a script.
of course they're interested in making a sale, it's their job... of course they're interested in making a commission, it's what pays for their food... How about your job?
I am surprised you would risk buying something over the phine.

I never would.
as Jno says - of course they're only interested in commission!
why else would they be calling you? its not to do you a favour or have a nice chat thats for sure.

they rush because for every minute they spend with you is a minute not making a sale elsewhere

its certainly annoying and in some circumstances wrong but what else do you expect?
I think jno who gave one of your answers is a salesperson, aprupt and a pain in the A??
