I've just seen an ad for a C4 prog on ITV1 and this is the second time it's happened this wk. Talk about confusing. I thought ITV and C4 were rival channels?

they have been doing this for years! for as long as i can remember.

i don't know why, they must have some kind agreement to mention each other a certain amount of times perhaps. does seem pointless though - if we want the other side we'll look in a tv guide and decide for ourselves.

The Hits and TMF have both been showing adverts for E4 music over the past 3 weeks, just as E4 music went off air to be replaced by snoozesome BB coverage
Channel 4 was originally set up as part of the ITV network and funded partly by all the other ITV channels. It was the ITV equivalent of BBC2, carrying the minority programming, and was always advertised on the ITV channels. Things have changed a lot over the years, but I guess there is still a link.
As discovered in another thread Channel 4 have been popping up on many channels. Apparrently it's not connections just vigourous advertising.
Exactly, Channel 4 are simply buying ad time like every other advertiser.

I thought I was losing it at first, that I'd switched over to C4 without remembering! Think I'll have to keep the channel display on to be sure from now on, lol.
