Lots of snow here on the east coast of Scotland with lots of roads closed. Supposed to be driving to Stafford on Friday - can anyone tell me how the roads are down there?

Sorry can't help you there maggie, but here in Manchester the sun is shining brightly and the sky is blue. Haven't been out yet but I expect it's not as warm as it looks.

Would love to kaypar but I'm going to a three day conference so don't have much choice. Question is whether to drive or get the train. Maybe the train looks the better option.
Think Stafford is West Midlands so Tonyav may be able to tell you better. Here in the East Midlands we have had a lot of snow Friday and Sunday eve, which is still lying and froze last night so now very icy conditions. The main roads/bus routes seem to be ok as they have been gritted but the side roads untreated are treacherous, we live on a hill and haven't had the car out since Friday's snow. Take care whatever you decide Maggie x
