Mondeo Mk3 Central Locking

when the weather gets colder and damper the central locking on my 2002 mondeo won't open any doors except the drivers door and the boot won;t open either.this is using the key only as the remote hasn't worked for ages .Anyone got any answers ?

As a first step,have you renewed the battery in the key fob?

Used to get this problem on a Vauxhall Calibra I once owned, I used to spray some WD40 into the keyhole and it would then operate.

I don't know about your model but quite a few cars are designed so that the key only opens the driver's door. So maybe you don't have a fault. Are you sure it's only that way in cold/damp or is it just that you hanen't used the key at other times?
