Told this evening our ferry home will not be running tomorrow due to high winds.
No idea when we can come home. This is the fast ferry that takes 3.25 hours from Poole to Guernsey. There will be a standard ferry running that takes 12 hours but that is a no no. Apparently it is going to be very rough tomorrow.
It was bad enough coming over so will have to wait it out. Hotel are extending everyone's stay if they want it on a special reduced rate. The trouble is the Island is small, the weather is not good and you run out of things to do. I am rationing my crosswords and my book, will go out shopping tomorrow for reading matter. We do get newspapers delivered to our room daily. Thank heavens for my lap top.

Ouch - you have my sympathy - I have been seriously poorly on a ferry from that direction.

Good luck

Dotty, what is a Kobo?

Ah just googled it, a variety of a kindle. I agree it would come in handy in situations like this, but I really enjoy the feel of a book. I'm halfway through a Chrissie present, Maeve Binchy's A Week in Winter. A good one!!
Hope you and mrcarandrog are OK, stay put until it is clear. The forecast is not good on the sw england anyway, flood warnings are out. And rough seas. Perhaps a Kindle would have been better than your book, but at least you can do the crossword in the newspaper and log on here.
make sure you have bought sea sick tabs it can get very choppy what a pity its winter I have had some lovely summer from trips from Guernsey went to Herm, Sark and I think ST Malo [ or was that one from Jersey ?] and marvellous food at various restaurants, we also brought lots of plants & veg home for sale outside peopele's houses .Hope your safely home soon and Happy New year to you and Mr caran.
Oh no, marooned on a desert island. Hope you survive the ordeal & escape before the pirates or the cannibals turn up.
