I have recently sold my standard 16" wheels and alloys to a friend and bought some 17" wheels and alloys.

However as the old 16" spare tyre was not any use to me i gave this also. Problem now is that i do not have a spare and wanted to know if the only option was to purchase a space saver or is it possible to buy a spare rim so that i can have a 17" wheel put onto it?

If space saver the answer - anyone where the cheapest option is?

Thanks

presuming you have done this correctly and fitted 17's with the same overall diameter the 16" would have done just fine as aget you home spare [same as a space saver does]
try the local scrappie fro a vw spec wheel or space saver

Many thanks for that - will try the scrap dealers for the space saver.
