My best friend is undergoing chemo and I have just bought her a Foot Spa from Superdrug which is currently half price. Since she cannot have massage or reflexology which would stimulate cell growth - the foot spa is relaxing and quite safe.

A nice silk scarf would be good too - I have been looking for nice head gear which is impossible to find - I also bought her some fake fur cosy booties and fluffy bed socks which she loves and wears on her visits to Hosp. A nice quality track suit is good too for home wear as it takes little effort to put on and take off!

Good luck and best wishes.

What about a good DVD or Book. Something to take her mind off things for a while. My daughter has just finished a course of chemo and I know it can take a lot out of you so sitting watching a nice film would help your friend to relax.
a really soft fleacy blanket or some comedy dvd's, something to make them laugh. Depends on age and whether it's appropriate, but even a wig might raise a smile. I bought my mother in law, who was going through it, a toaster!! but only because she specifically asked for it! so that's not too helpful.

where did u get the bed socks from then health?

If for a lady, buy her something luxurious like an expensive perfume or wonderful bath products. Something that makes her feel feminine and cossetted.

Pretty Jewellery too would be lovely if you know her taste or lovely accessories, scarves, gloves, bags.

Nothing that would make her feel like an invalid.

lots of hugs and cuddles and nice words andthey are free

If your friend is artistic, what about something like paints and canvas? What about an MP3 player - and download some good songs to it....

Hope this helps!

Sorry - couldn't reply sooner about the bed socks - been with my friend over Christmas. She was very happy with all her gifts - the bed socks were from BeWise! (A good bargain store).

Hope all's going well for you and your friend and best wishes of course.
