I would like to use two single duvets on our 5ft bed instead of one king size, as I am a cool sleeper and my oh is a warm sleeper, so I want a 4'5 tog and he wants a 13.5 tog, but would this work? has anyone tried it? I can't afford and don't want single beds.

Never tried it but cannot see why it would not work, you could always buy a bed throw to make it look tidier during the day.

Search for dual tog duvets, they are available.
Tried it in a hotel in Italy once and found it worked really well. Stops all the arguments about who pinched the most. We keep meaning to try it at home
I like a warmer duvet, Mr P prefers a colder one.

So we have a kingsize duvet (4.5 tog) and I have a single 10 tog one on my side on top of it. Seems to work for us.
Should work just fine. You both get to snuggle in your own duvet.
Yeah it's fine. In some of my nordic noir books the couples have their own duvets, apparently that's pretty common in europe, (I think it's the way it's actually supposed to be done).
4.5 tog? I always thought they only went from 10 to 15, with .5 increments.
I used to do similar with my ex though I used to have a quilt like blanket rather than a different duvet as I got warmer.

I find 13.5 tog too bouffant too :)

thanks, thats a lot of help, oh is also inclined to roll himself up like sausage roll and leave me bare, so that would stop that as well.
Yep, my ex was a duvet hogger too and it solved that problem as well :)
Mine is too. We now have separate beds and that works much better for us
Yes I am going to do this this year. They do it all the time in Germany, much better.
We've always had two duvets on the one bed until various illnesses forced us into single beds .
Single duvet covers are much easier to change as well.
I would go for a 6ft dual duvet, but I dont think they come cheap.
