Actually Jake it does mean the future recruiting must discriminate, the causes of it may be the previous recruiting techniques but to balance you would need to discriminate until you had achieved. Perhaps you should think about it a bit more before adopting your sanctimonious stance.

10% reduction, probably also in part to the number of foreigners who are not Christian as well as those who now don't feel 'forced' into putting CoE.

Jake, but that’s exactly what Boxy said is happening. They have to do it at work to make sure they’re not discriminating – which means someone is likely to suffer discrimination in favour of someone else. That’s not prejudice on Snafu’s part – he’s simply stating a fact.
hiring anyone ahead of anyone else is discriminating, that's what selection processes are for. But there are grounds on which you are not allowed to do so. And there are just so many bosses convinced that "the best person for the job" is always going to be the same colour as themselves.
really, Chinese restaurants seem to discriminate, because you never see a black or white person serving in their restaurants, nor doing the cooking i suspect. Same for most Asian restaurants, the owners i am sure would think it strange to employ someone who is not of their culture, and couldn't cook the types of food they sell. I remember an article quite recently from a Chinese restaurant owner bemoaning the fact that they can't get the Chinese staff they want because of the government clampdown on immigration.
I do remember years ago in the States where employers had to hire someone of the right colour, to keep up their quotas, rather than the best person for the job. It's not right. ...and why must we have BEM networks at work? - we don't have white ones. Sometimes employer non-discrimination seems to go too far the other way. I don't understand it.
Good news? very, any reduction in the believers of mumbo jumbo must be good.
Really em

///they can't get the Chinese staff they want because of the government clampdown on immigration///.
