Margie, in his original email advertising the quiz, Richard stated that if necessary, people could ask for clues from 3rd Dec, which is why I waited till today to do so. Maybe we could help each other out? It's so frustrating when you only have 1 to do and you're stuck, I'm sure you'll agree.
I totally agree losgigs and you are right. Richard DID say we could ask for clues as from 3rd SO ...... your answer - for "stout" think "beer" - used to be advertised by pelicans. I have posted mine off all done with ONE dubious answer which I want to KNOW - Romeo left there with athlete carrying equipment (3, 4, 6) First word "the", second word starts between H and L. Any ideas?
the kite runner?
Sorry losgigs!!!! Got brain fade - as soon as I logged off realised it was advertised by toucans not pelicans!!! Well they are similar aren't they? Rest of the clue is an anagram.

Thanks so much for the clue, Kustard. Have finally worked it out. What a relief! In answer to your query - it's a novel published in 2003, set in capital of a war-torn country. Later made into a film. Hope you can work it out. If not, I'll tell you on the 7th. Would never compromise one of Richard's brilliant quizzes. He raises loads of money for Macmillan, and am so glad I joined AB otherwise I'd probably never find out about them! x

Duh, Mallyh, you gave it away!!!! No answers till after the 7th please.
Thanks to you both. As I said, it's too late for the answer anyway cos I've sent it in but I wouldn't have got it. It makes complete sense now but never heard of it!!!! I too love Richard's quizes. My friend (Touchstone) and I used to really enjoy emailing back and forth when we got answers but she died very suddenly on the morning this quiz came out so never even saw it. She might have got the answer. Anyway good luck to you both. Hope one of you win!!!!
Oh Kustard, just read that sad news about Touchstone, I know you got along very well ((HUG))
Glad you saw the posting Mamya cos I know you commented when we first met and started our friendship on AB. We emailed every day after that. Wanted to let you know. There should be a little section for things like that cos I'm sure we've all got used to talking to people on AB then they disappear (Niles Quimby for example) and you wonder what's happened to them. Kate x
Yes, I always smiled when I saw you were chatting and it showed how good friendships can be formed here, you have happy memories... we have to cling to those. :-)

What an idiot I am! Now realised I have 1 more unanswered clue in this quiz - 36. Theo wraps up red cargo list (3,9,9). It's a book title.CLUES only please. Promise this really is the last one.
OK Losgigs. If you'd typed this in the box at the top you'd find someone had answered it a few days ago so I'm not giving anything away when I tell you it's The Communist Manifesto. You'd better hurry up and post it!!!!!

Thanks, Kustard. All posted off now and have emailed it too, just in case Royal Mail can't deliver by Friday, which they should with 1st class postage! Have just received a new quiz in the post today (Long Eaton Trivia quiz) so plenty to keep me busy for a while.
