what is the difference between cd-r and cd-rw?!

A cd-r can only have information put onto it once (like a vinyl record), whilst a cd-rw can have information erased and rewritten to it (like a cassette tape).
also cdrw have crystal layer and cdr got dye apparently; also you can write to a cdr repeatedly (til it's full) if you leave session open ..and cdr's are more likely to be compatible with older computers than cdrw, also you can play a cdr in a standard cdplayer, not so with cdrw... but my older pc cdrom drive does read cdrw, which i did not expect.
