code 28 error/ webcam not recognised

ive just purchased a webcam and i get a code 28 error or when i plug into the usb interface it says no drivers installed - does anyone know how to fix this

I have found that there is one golden rule when installing USB devices: do not plug them in first! I always install from the CD first until I am prompted to plug in the device (or plugging in the device is the only thing left I can do). I would use add/remove programs to remove all the USB drivers and software then start again from scratch using my preferred method. This I have found out from many frustrating hours installing crappy USB devices.
