I do. Just like Beatles 'Please Please me' it is No 2 in all these silly reference books that people seem to believe.

From Wiki
It was released as a single on 4 February 1966 and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, and in the United Kingdom Record Retailer chart. However, it hit No. 1 in the NME chart and the BBC's Pick of the Pops chart, both of which were more widely recognised in Britain at the time
yep, I thought it was called 'here it comes'. I bopped to them live at Swan, Windsor, got their autographs & a wet sloppy kiss from Mick - yuk :)
I seem to remember it was on the other side of Ruby Tuesday.
Wether or not it was, I am sure somebody will confirm or tell me otherwise
Where's MR when you need him? I am sorry in answer to your question , I don't remember however it is one of my favourite Stones tracks.
Not sure Dicky but I think Ruby Tuesday was on the back of Lets Spend The Night Together, in about January '67
?
B sides
"As Tears Go By" (UK)
"Sad Day" (US and Canada)
You are right Paddy. I was confused. I remember listening to both tracks on an overnight coach journey from preston to Tilbury. 2 weeks cruising round the Baltic. Best school trip ever!!
I remember it knocking off Nancy Sinatra,s 'Boots....' from No1 on Top of the Pops. It was No1 on 'Pick of the Pops'. No1 in Melody Maker, No1 in Musical Express and No1 all over the place. Where on earth has this Record Retailer come from? And what brain-dead goons are trying to change chart history with some obsolete magazine?
There was a programme on BBC4 on Friday night, Smiler, which went a long way towards explaining all the various anomalies. Should be on the I-player. Well worth a watch.

Incidentally, try www.everyhit.co.uk for old charts. They seem to have stopped updating their list last year, but the old stuff seems pretty accurate. Or there's www.officialcharts.com. That's bang up to date. Both have it as peaking at No 2.

Funnily enough, I remember both 19th... and Please Please Me as only reaching No 2. Suppose it must depend on which paper you read at the time. I'm pretty certain that it was I Wanna Hold Your Hand that has always been recorded as the Beatles' first No 1 here.

Cheers
In the 60s I used to buy Disc and Music Echo music paper (formerly 'Disc) and this was No 1 in that paper which came out on a Thursday or Friday. On a Tuesday, the Daily Mirror gave the 'Melody Maker' chart and the Daily Express gave the 'Musical Express' chart and this song was No 1 in both. So how many charts do you need? No doubt-- No 111111111111111111111!!!
